Morning Skippy
I think as from what has already been posted about these types of call centres, they don't understand your actual position all they want to do is confirm a payment from you no matter what your circumstances are or how little you pay - sure they all have a big scoresheet next to their desks with our names on and tick them off when we finally pay them something - but as you said the law is on your side with this one, you included the debt in your BR so there is little that they can do.

Hi Skippy, looks like I've got the same problem as you (and what with Lloyds and Tesco - we've got the same creditors too!!), I thad a letter from Tesco saying I had defaulted and I had to come up with a silly amount of dosh! But thanks to your posting I now know not to waste my time and money by phoning them!! I'll do as you did and put it in writing. I stopped using Tesco ages ago (but maybe that had something to do with the very cute butcher that works in Morrisons!!!!)

I'm sorry you have had this problem Skippy, I think all finance places need an update in training or something in how to deal with Bankruptcy/IVA queries as there are a lot of us about now.

The communication within these companys is terrible, they need to go to a few study days on it. The one who dealt with the default is probably sitting next to the one who knows about the bankrupcy.

I actually quite enjoyed explaining the laws of bankruptcy to the moron on the phone! He still finished the conversation with "someone will be in touch with you to arrange payment and they will explain your situation to you!" Duhhh, I know the situation I'm in and I don't want anyone from the devil's brand to explain it to me!

Maybe they think you went to court to file for bankruptcy for the hell of it.

Well actually I woke up that morning and thought that as I didn't fancy going to work I'd go to court instead - it made a change from my normal day!
