I really dont want root canal treatment, i am not having any trouble other than a couple of twinges when i drink something ice cold.

The private dentist came up with potential 7 fillings! I honestly thought that the nhs man was taking the mickey with root treatment but at least he never mentioned all the other fillings!!
Back to square one but what dunt kill you makes you stronger!!

You'll have to make a decision FC - to have it done or not!

Pelder - I have a mouth full of amalgam fillings, I'm 55, extremely healthy and have never had any problems with any toxins!

Bet you looked lovely ladyh [:D][:D]

FC - it maybe worth you signing up to a plan and see what they say. we have good NHS dentists here...apparently, I have a phobia and will only go if dragged.

Good luck FC, hope its not too painful or expensive.

I would certainly not agree to have RCT if the dentist didn't even take an Xray! I've been a dental nurse for 10years, now training to be a dental therapist and trust me, you would know if you needed root canal treatment as you would have unbearable sensitivity & pain.
As Orchid suggested call your local primary care trust who should be able to give you details of other dentists accepting new patients in your area.
