Brilliant news for you both Mattyboy and Dizzy r. Hope you don't have any more delays and everything is settled soon.

Thanks Mattyboy for posting that telephone number, I usually go through the normal customer service line which is often not answered, I'll give that number a try next time.
It's been a long road getting from there to here but it's been worth it!

I tried the regular DFD customer care number again this afternoon just to check the email address they are giving out is the same as the one I used and nearly fell off my seat when someone picked up almost straight away!

A really helpful lady called straight through to the closure team and came back with the following update. All claims are in except for 1 creditor and they have a deadline of Wed 16 August to make the claim, if they don't meet that date they will be excluded. I have been given an estimate of end of August or beginning of September for the certificate to be issued. So more optimistic now (cautiously!)

Thanks again for the number Matty, it could be very useful if I need to get through to them again.
[:(] Oh well - I did say cautiously optimistic! Bank holiday weekend over and I was hoping we might receive our completion certificate in the mail - no sign so I rang DFD. As far as I can understand from the customer care lady, a collections company who took over one of my accounts in the last 6 months of the IVA received a bigger dividend than they should have which means that now all the payments have to be re adjusted. Estimated time for the completion is now end of September - I just feel so deflated! - that will take it to almost 6 months since the final payment.
Anyway, in the meantime I do hope that some of the other posters on this thread who were near to completion have had some positive results by now x

That's not good dizzy.

I wonder how they managed to pay out more to one company? Shouldn't matter who took over the account, the dividend should have been the same for everyone.

I hope Declan can pick up on this one and hopefully get you sorted.

hope this is resolved soon for you - I know how frustrating it is especially when you can't really settle into debt free life until you have that certificate in your hands ! Won't be long now and i am sure if Declan can help he will !

Thanks Jan and Lulu. As I understand it, there was an error probably due to the company taking over the debt so late in the day and it is just a case of adjustments being made which will take about another 3 weeks to tie up. My heart was thumping so fast when she initailly said there was a delay due to a query on the distributions that it was almost a relief when I received the actual explanation. I will email Declan to ask if it can be resolved more quickly than the 3 weeks quoted as it has already been a long haul.

Hope you can get it sorted before the three weeks.

Thanks Grumple. I have emailed Declan to ask if the further 3 weeks timeframe quoted can be reduced and waiting to hear back from him. I know that compared to the problems and anxieties that some posters have had to contend with it is not a massive issue but all the same, most frustrating ....!

I got bored of waiting for my certificate and constantly chasing it up by phone so I emailed my IP directly. It's in the post tonight apparently. A huge weight lifted off my shoulders, it took a while to sort but at least I know that its ended now!

hi, just wanted to tell you we did a F&F IVA in Feb this year, our completion certificate took 6months. one creditor was slow submitting their claim.

it is frustrating but you will get there. the biggest thing for me will be getting off the Insolvency Reg. can't wait!

It took 4 months for mine and all creditor claims were in before the end date. Glad it's all over, seemed to take forever and that was with me doing all the chasing, sometimes once a week. Dread to think how long it would have taken if I just left it!

DFD are quoting 3-6 months now for completion certificate to be received .. thats one hell of a wait now from their original quotes of up to 3 months...
