Today I've been for an eye test, got a free voucher from Sainsbury Nectar points. However, when I was having the test, I was asked the usual health questions and answered yes to diabetes and glaucoma in the family, my brother has both (he has lost both legs and is almost blind and younger than me.) If you have an immediate relative with glaucoma/diabetes you are entitled to a yearly free eye test for health purposes. So I will never have to pay for another sight test. My sight is fine this time but I had no idea this concession existed and have now informed my other brother so he can also get regular free testing now too. The optometrist did say yearly testing was recommended in my case.

For Glaucoma free eye sight test you have to be over 40 and have a close family member with the condition.

We could get a free eye test but the college I work for but we have to go to an optician they say which is situated where the main campus is, which is why I thought I'd try the free voucher from Sainsburys and so glad I did as I now know I can have a free yearly eye test
