Understandable.....We all know how it feels when the realisation hits home. You obviously need a car but i would be surprised if they didnt ask you to sell it and get a cheaper one. That is if an IVA is an available option for you. If it is, it may be worth selling the car and getting one for around £2000 and giving the rest of the money to your creditors.

I definately think that you ought to explore the Motability Scheme before you consider selling your car and buying a cheaper alternative, and would not suggest selling unless your creditors insist on this at the creditors meeting. A carefully worded and properly researched IVA, justifying the need to retain your car, could well leave the car intact.

Thanks for that link Skint. The motorbility option is much cheaper than I thought. I wish I'd got a scheme car already. I think you may have solved that problem. I think the creditors will also be pleased with a decent sum being offered. Not that it's anywhere near the whole amount but it will certainly make them look kindly on me I'm sure.
I've got a long way to go and it's barely started yet but I'm so thankful that I found this forum to help me through.
