Hi - still no news from my HR dept. The lady I am dealaing with is now on holday for 2 days!!!

Basically I have been in a position for 4 years in the firm but I am transferring location so interviewed for a new position which I got. I then had to go through the screening process again as I was treated as a new joiner as the new position is a fixed term contract for 7 months. Due to the screening process I declared my position and I know find myself in this tricky situation.

In hindsight would it have been better to keep this information to myself? I just feel let down that my honesty has now proved to potentially have ben the wrong option.

Jojoey,

I know it is pain at the moment not knowing where you stand but I still believe you did the right thing by notifying them. If you had not you would of got found out anyway and would of most likely been straight out of the door.

Honesty is always the best policy regardless

Hi Jojoey, you did the right thing. It would have been found out when they did the credit check. Two days is a long time!

Good luck jojoey - I hope commonsense prevails and you will be judged on your proven experience and loyalty to the company.

I know a lot of contracts of employment are including such clauses, I really hope someone challenges the decision. In my opinion it is unfair ( and thats from a HR person [:)]).

I think it shows it is wise to be honest in these situations, because otherwise you'd have been worrying about if someone found out. Well done on your new job!!
