inform my creditors that my IVA was accepted last Friday? The HSBC rang my husband last night and he tried to tell them that our IVA was accepted on Friday but without a reference number they cannot update their system etc., Mercers for Barclaycard told me I had to ring last Friday afternoon to update them of the outcome of the meeting but I haven't done. Just thinking about this now and should I be doing these things or does the IP's office do this? Haven't received a chairmans report yet still early days for me as only accepted Friday, am I right in assuming this has the reference number on the creditors are referring to?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I can't tell you about the reference number as I haven't access to my Chairman's Report but personally, I didn't bother to contact anyone.
Most creditors gave up calling / sending letters within 2-4 weeks and only the most stubborn went further than that.

My view is that this is the job of your IP. Without being blunt about it, this is one of the things you pay them for. Apart from anything else, they have the chairman's report which they presumably would send with the notification.

You will probably find that correspondence continues to come through from your creditors for a while - keep forwarding these to your IP and eventually they will stop. I am only a month in to my IVA, and I haven't had any contact from my creditors (touch wood!) for a fortnight. I don't go to the cupboard where the post is kept now with fear inside my body.

We don't work with reference numbers, rather people, but what the creditors are probably looking for is the Court reference numbers. Your Chairman's Report will be finalised shortly, but give Sarah a ring if you need anything in the meantime.

For the first month or so you will continue to receive communications from creditors. Some may indicate that they were not notified of the VA, but when you check with the IP you will probably find that they voted at the meeting! There is unlikley to be anything sinister e.g a creditor continuing to try to extract payment. Likely as not it's simply a matter of left hand/ right hand and things will quieten down soon.

I'm not unduly stressed about it, was just wondering as I'm on half term this week! too much time to think! Wondering should I be contacting them....thanks all I won't go out of my way to tell them, obviously if they ring me I'll give them the information but so long as it's not my responsibility. I'm sending my correspondence now to my IP less frequently so will send it this week as I've not done so for a couple of weeks. from L still on a high from Friday!

Thanks Melanie, I realise you don't have reference numbers and the amount of creditors that prefer to argue with me on that point is unreal! I assumed it would be the court reference number they were looking for, no worries, no need to bother Sarah at this point, I know you and your valuable staff are there when needed.

I am still getting the odd statement from my creditors, and my IVA was agreed on 18th December. I wish they would get the message!

Hi
My IVA was approved on the 27th December 2007, and since that date I have had only about 4 or 5 letters from my creditors which I have just forwarded to my IP. I still have just one company, Pennine Debt Recovery on behalf of Next who are still pestering me, but I just keep saying no to them and tell them to ring Clearstart.
I was told by Clearstart that they would write to all my creditors enclosing a copy of the chairmans report after the IVA was approved. It is really really lovely now dont get any post now perhaps 1 or 2 letters a week thats all.
So all in all its taken about 2 months for all the post to disapear. Its brilliant.
53 down 7 to go !!
Cant wait till December 2012

In my company - but lots of other IPs operate under the same principles!
