Hi Maureen,

I think that f it is an income, then it will be included as just that, unless the funds are perhaps for additional support as specified to cover any increased expenditure etc.

Best thing is to speak to your IP, as your IVA payments are based on your surplus income.
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

You should declare the income and increase or add items for whatever the DLA was awarded for onto your I&E to offset it.

Taxpayers would not take kindly to finding benefits like these that are very specific not being used for the purpose they are being paid to you for in my opinion.
Last Payment - November 2011 - Completion Certificate received 2 weeks after last payment, Removed from Insolvency Register within 4 weeks after last payment.

We receive middle rate DLA for our son (about £200 a month). I put it down as income, with a corresponding expenditure under the heading of 'Disability related expenditure'.

My IP fully accepts that this money is intended for the sole purpose of proving for our son and does not expect any of it to go in the pot.

As Herbekj says, I don't think taxpayers - or DWP - would take too kindly to DLA being used for a purpose other than what it is intended.
Completed February 2015

Any additional income will have to be declared but as adfax says as the DLA is for disability related expenses, it will be included in the expenditure and will not increase your IVA payments.

We have never had to support the 'disability related expenditure' with receipts. My IP accepts that the income and expenditure cancel each other out.

Hi Adfax
Thanks for that , I will do that, and feel at ease that they wont take his dla in consideration at all, thanks for your advise which has been invaluable . Maureen
