I too was in a DMP for approx 18 months before going into an IVA.
We started with the DMP as that is all we knew at the time - it started out ok, but slowly but surely some of our creditors started to add on interest again, and we would get the phonecalls.
We were then advise by the co. we were with that an IVA was the best option, and the rest they say is history!
Being in a DMP didn't affect the outcome of our IVA.
