Well done for having the moral courage to approach your new employer rather than burying your head in the sand and hoping for the best.

These clauses are often put into contracts of employment by lawyers as "belt and braces" with their clients rarely comprehending the implications of such. I am sure that your employer chose you for this job on the grounds of your own personality and competence, and that the fact that your have been responsible with regards to your finances and entered into an arrangement to repay your creditors - which they have agreed to - makes absolutely no difference in your ability to do your job properly.

And Ian does make a very good comment when he says that if they were to enforce this clause, perhaps they are not the firm to be working for in any case - particularly when you note that they are responsible for agreeing insurance claims.

i agree with melaine been honest does you the world of good, as i have found out to my credit.

The only thing that concerns me i work for a global company, very big, big turnover etc etc, and are a very good company to work for, but when they want to get rid of some one they will bring up anything to get rid of them.

I just hope this could not be something that in a few years time they may use against you, i would say probably not, if they were not really aware it was their
