Didnt want to hijack an existing thread so here is the update,

Our 8 year old choccy lab has had a mast cell tumour removed from the skin above his chest and below his chin(sort of on his neck at the front).
Vet said we noticed it early and he has now removed it with a good margin around,so the wound looks worse than the size of the tumour(it was pea sized). Lump gets sent away to lab to work out how agressive or NOT it is so fingers crossed.

Worried sick doesnt do it justice, and I know the forum is bursting with animal lovers so thought I'd let you know how he is.

Picking him up at 4-15pm so will update later on.

Paul

Fingers crossed, Paul ... bad news at this time of year is NOT wanted.

Well he is home. Lots of hair shaved off neck, wound looks neat, plenty of margin round tumour removed but it will be a couple of weeks before results come back.

He just scoffed a bowl of chicken and rice so his appetite is ok.

Oh and the bill

£798-22 so far!

Thank god for petplan insurance!

That said if he wasn't insured we'd still have found the cash!

Thanks for the kind thoughts.

I have a chocolate lab too and I can't begin to imagine how worried you are Paul. Sending Taz a whole load of cyber love and healing wishes. Let us know how Taz does won't you?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
