I'm looking forward to meeting you at last Emma. My mum is on Harry-sitting duty and I made sure I asked her if it was ok this time!!!

Thanks Emma. I've been meaning to post about mum - it looks as if she'll get a written caution, but we're waiting to hear for definite so fingers crossed.

Unfortunately she's now got something new to worry about - Blaze, her Rotty cross labrador is 2 stone overweight and mum's now worrying about her diet!

I hope she just gets a written caution and that be the end of this fiasco - its so unfair they took any action at all. But hopefully it will be over soon and she can forget all about it...

Getting weight of Blaze should not be to hard - I think it hurts the owner more as they feel like they are denying their pets!!

He needs lower calorie food and more exercise if she is up to it. Just the same as humans really!!

The problem is Blaze can't be let off her lead - she has no recall whatsoever! The last time my mum tried it she disappeared and wasn't found for 3 hours. To be honest she's the wrong sort of dog for my mum as she's far too big and strong, but she needed a home and mum couldn't say no.

What a softie your mum is, that must be where you get it from[:)]

It is a shame he can't get off the lead as he needs a good run, but she can't risk losing him. I think my boy would be the size of a house if he did not get 2 long runs a day as he eats so many treats!!
Does he still bolt if another dog is with him, as it may help if your mum walks with someone with a well behaved dog, it might rub off!!

She can ask the vets for advice next time she goes, but tell her not to be conned into expensive low cal food as cheaper alternatives are available.
xx

There is one problem with Blaze and other dogs - she wants to play all the time, no matter what size the dog is. Unfortunately when she sees another dog she screams - literally! It's really embarrassing - people look at you as if you've hit her - and other dog owners don't look too impressed either!

Hi All,
I may be able to come and meet you as well, its a fair old drive, but as luck would have it I may well be in portsmouth that weekend on my new found hobby, and staying with relatives who are 20 min walk away from the venue.
hopefully it will be a go all round

Cheers
Mark
