Hi all
Just wondered if anyone else has had PPI claims through DRSP whilst in an IVA with Cleardebt?
If so how long did it take them to complete the process?
Mines been ongoing 10 months now and still no sign of it finishing. Surely it doesn't take them that long?
I am sorry to hear how long your claims have been ongoing for. Unfortunately, the timescale is largely down to your creditors and how promptly they respond. In some instances the Financial Ombudsman Service may be asked to mediate and under these circumstances it can take upwards of 18 months to reach a conclusion.
If you email me directly with your details I will happily look into it for you.
Regards.

Hi Dan, 10 months for me also, but it may have actually been resolved, or then again, it may not have been, they have never contacted me either way. so who knows!
As long as these PPI investigations are carried out well in advance of your final payment then it should not be a problem for you.
PPI is by now not a new thing and all IPs should be investigating these claims in advance and not waiting until the final payment to start this process.
7 years after starting an IVA I finally received a completion certificate from ClearDebt
I had my DRSP appointment back in March and last month made my final payment into my IVA (yippee!) but unfortunately they cant send me my completion certificate until the PPI claims have been completed (boo) I've heard that it could take another year or so...
I've been told that i cant get a mortgage until at least 1 year after i receive my completion certificate , so this PPI claim could put my life on hold for another 2 years - i understand why they have to do this, but is very frustrating!
I know its frustrating for you all - hang in there - your companies will be doing the best they can, and as Size5 says, they are at the mercy of the creditors in some cases.

Creditors are taking a very long time in dealing with PPI queries - probably due to the vast number of claims there are out there - and if things have to be referred to the Financial Ombudsman then it can take even longer.
Why not enquire of your IP whether they feel able to issue the Certificate of Due Completion regardless of the PPI issue, perhaps by taking an assignment of your claims.
As you can see I raised this post back in October 2013.
Since then the progress made is absolute zero! On December 13th it will mark the 2 year anniversary of when my ppi investigation began with DRSP.
Now with my IVA due to end this is going to hold up my chance of getting a completion certificate.
Has anybody else had to wait this long?
Is there anything I can do to get a conclusion from this?
Hi, my timescale is exactly the same as yours, we too are at 2 years. Our IVA ends next month but PPI fiasco continues.I am now phoning weekly and have had a few occurrences of DRSP telling me that cases I had had notification of no PPI were still open, once I corrected them and they checked their systems, they closed them. Down to 1 claim on mine and husbands so hopefully we are nearing the end.
Why not ask your IP if they could get you to sign a Deed of Assignment signing away all future rights to PPI? That way, perhaps with a variation meeting, your IVA could be closed and PPI dealt with afterwards. We have just had this done ourselves so that closure would not be held up while PPI is sorted out.

IVA approved Aug 2008 - 6 year term - last payment made 6 Oct 2014. CC received 14 Nov 2014.
I've posted about this also, I finished my IVA 1.5 years ago, It was 6 years in September, DRSP took over a year to start, (It wasn't started till after my final IVA payment) I called them weekly chasing, finally finished a month ago then cleardebt say they can't give my certificate as egg has set off some money! Meaning it could go on for years to come! It's just awful
My first home visit from DRSP was December 2012, when I told them I had no PPI. I was finally informed last month, the investigation has concluded and there was no evidence of PPI. So about 22 months.
However, they still insisted I sign a deed of assignment that means that should any come to light at any time in the future, they would be entitled to it. So obviously they dont seem to 100% sure of their own work.
They possibly aren't, mole. But I think it is more a case of previously denied claims are now being accepted after the Ombudsmans' criticism a couple of months ago -- so they want to keep their options open.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
