It's a good scheme Jan but does have it's pitfalls, it's not a good idea if you are within a few years of retirement or you plan to have a baby as in the first case it can affect your pension and in the second you still have to meet the payments when you are on Mat leave!, fortunately I don't fall into either category so am ok, having said that, if I wasn't in an IVA, I definitely would have stuck with my old car and not paid out for a new one and kept it til it died
Hopefully I will be retired in two years and four months - not that I'm counting!!!

Update on complaint - we received a letter today, whilst they do not admit liability for any misunderstanding ( do they ever???), Moneybarn are refunding us the cost of the alternator as a goodwill gesture.
I guess that was the best outcome we could have hoped for and grateful for the refund.

would be intrested if you could do a blog julie when you get time on how you went about getting a car of moneybarn and what things you have come up against and how the whole proccess has been.
