I was lucky and managed to upgrade my phone when I was in an IVA and then again when I was still BR. Both times I was worried I'd be disconnected, but I was ok.

I'm lost without the computer and my phone - yet it wasn't that long ago that we had neither!

I feel safer when I have my phone with me and if I can't have contact with my friends on here I'd go out of my mind!

Same here Jan - I was worried that I'd lose my laptop when I went BR! Dave was told he was buying it back for me if I lost it!

I must admit my phone isn't much security for me as it usually needs charging or I can't find it!

I do usually switch mine off at night, unlike the daughter whose is on 24/7!

Mine goes on when I get up and is usually off by about 10 -10.30pn. The stupid thing is that I don't get that many calls on it (unless it's from other mobile phone companies trying to get me to change), but I couldn't manage without it.

I hardly make any calls on mine. I get 225 minutes a month and although I've used quite a bit of that this month because we went away, I usually only use about half an hour of calls! I looked into reducing the tariff, but I would only save £5 a month and get a lot less.

I get 600 minutes and 1000 texts plus unlimited web access on mine. If I use 60 minutes and 150 texts that's as many as I use. I do use the web access when I'm at work as I have no internet access there. It suits my purposes though and usually means that I can get a decent phone when I renew!

Tori,..sorry to hear you're computerless at the moment, must be a right pain for you all[}:)] hope you manage to get it sorted very soon..hmmm!!,..I can't remember either what it was like before we had computers and mobiles but would be lost without them now, that's for sure[:)]

Jan,..I know what you mean by feeling safer having your phone.[:)].this past week, I've been worried to venture out too far in case I can't get back home safely, been driving on roads where I know there's been a garage etc fairly close by, and then of course been getting all the calls on the landline instead and if I haven't been home,I've had the "where have you been, I was worried" conversations, when I have got back home, family fussing, bless[:)].

Skip,..that was good to hear that even with the bankruptcy, you were still ok with the mobile and laptop..[:)]...must admit, I don't make a lot of calls on mine either, it's more for people to ring me but I do text quite a bit!!..

The joy of mobile phones, mobile being the key word here! My hubby decided to go on our roof yesterday to fix an aerial....see blog*

Classic storm brewed, ladder fell over, mobile in kitchen! I've rung to say I'm going to be late but he didn't answer so assumed he was busy and there he was perched on the roof, 30ft ladder beneath him but slipped over when I got home! We'd had rain, hail, wind but it was dry when he went up there 2 hours previous! I was furious once he got down. H&S man at work, what do we forget the brains and go climbing up ridge tiles on a slate roof when we take a days holiday and he can't understand why I'm angry?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Gosh Lesley, he's lucky he wasn't hurt!

Typical man though - if he's like mine, he has to do it there and then!

I can only share this story because so much time has passed and I no longer blush at the memory, well not as much. [:)]

I needed my sink unit replacing as the woodwork was rotting due to a bad leak. In order to make a good case for replacement over repair to the council I went in to great detail about the problem, stating that it was so bad I had so many organisms under the sink it was a health hazard. (bet you know where this is going [:D])
Following several phone conversations and a visit from the surveyor, all of who got the story, I finally got my new unit. It was not till I was recounting the tale to my brother, that he showed me the blush factor in this tale, ‘ I’m not surprised you got so much attention from the workmen, it can’t be everyone who has multiple orgasms under their sink’
God how I cringed [:D][:D][:D]
Never take a moment or a loved one for granted in the blink of an eye they may be lost forever.

You are welcome to view my ramblings here.

Crikey!!, Lesley..Glad your hubby was alright,he must have been frozen stiff by the time he got back down..[:0]..I've banned hubby from doing any jobs involving using a ladder unless I'm at home, but even then I can't watch what he's doing..and if I'm out and he's doing some work outside,if I need to ring him for any reason, you can guarantee that he won't have his moby on him, usually leaves it in the kitchen, it can be very frustrating sometimes, when I really need to speak with him...Men!![:(!].[:)]

[:D][:I][:D]...Carole, how embarrasing..[:D]
