Hi anquise. Thanks for your help but its a bit too far really. I would end up spending all my earnings on fuel with a not so reliable car anyway.

Swans girl. On your point the agency are there to please you so i doubt you would have problems on that side. If they upset you, you wouldnt use them and at the end of the day you pay there wages. Out of interest why do you use agencies and not do your own recruitment?

i know what you mean steve, when i was looking for an out of the motor trade i signed up with an agency and was approached to apply for a trainee managers job in the finance industry the usual stuff good benfits good prospects etc.i drove miles for the interview ,it turned out to be a group presentation and not a 1 to 1 and then it dawned on me that the job was actually a door to door mortgage salesman!!!!!! and to make matters worse it was on a comission only basis.i just walked out,i was furious to say the least.so beware of the description and ask plenty of questions before you commit anything.
i'm not skint,i'm financially challenged

There jusy a waste of time in my opinion blue. I thought it was just me who had problems with them. Its obvious they just want people on there system. I have even seen jobs advertised for x amount and when i look at the description it is just general vacncies in a certain area to get you to register. THEY JUST LIE THROUGH THERE TEETH

TOL - I actually use a variety of ways recruiting but I do find by using an agency I save a lot of my time in the long run. If I advertised through the jobcentre, I end up sifting through a lot of CV's and to be honest the jobcentre tell all and sundry to apply. With the agencies I get personnel of a certain quality and if there are any problems I just refer back to the agency.

As I work for a project I also employ personnel from government back to work schemes, along with using the voluntary sector. I am also a firm believer of "word of mouth" if I'm looking to fill a vacancy and any of my existing staff out forward someone, I will give them a chance.

Good luck with the job hunting

Steve, good news. I hope it leads to a permanent position.
