Hi any body had any experiance of cashing in an endownment policy? We had our iva agreed in July 2007 by doing a full and final settlement offer, part of the agreement was to cash in our endownment policy, now this was started in september 2007 and as of todate is still not completed, the problem is that when we re-mortgaged the companies involved (old mortgage lender - solicitor - new mortgage lender) between them lost our orginal policy, so hence forth a long long delay, and there dosn't seem to be a end in sight, i have contacted the policy company but getting nowhere they keep telling me they are waiting for a reply from the life office, help is needed in that is there anything else i can do;-

1, how long do you have to settle the iva from start to finish?

2, what is the life office?

I am now getting totally fed up/ stressed and depressed with this lot i feel like i'm hitting my head against a brick wall.

Hi
You normally have one year to complete your IVA in a full and final.
There must be a quicker way to release your money, surely a form can be filled in stating that you no longer have the original policy.
I would write a letter to the chairman of the company, recorded delivery, that ought to get things moving.

As Andy says - the endowment company should send you a "Lost Policy" declaration form to complete which ought to speed things up considerably.
