Well done on remaining strong Wen ... it can actually be a bit of a relief can't it.

I have found these people EXTREMELY helpful in winding up my business ... it might be worth a free phone call before you go much further.

Hi there Wen

Given the imminent announcement anticipated about Post Office redundancies, have you considered hanging on there for a couple of months to see whether your office is eligible? And can you not claim compensation for them closing you down as a result of the robbery?

Hi Melanie

No unfortunately we are unable to claim compensation as a result of the robbery as the post office are quite a law unto themselves and as the police have no leads for the actual robbery the post office has made my husband a scape goat. He hasn't been paid since May and we're still fighting that battle with the post office federation. The whole situation with the robbery and the closure of post office came at the worst possible time for us (if there was ever a good time!) but our shop is near to a university and our sales are very much driven by them and it all happened just as summer term finished so we had no students and no customers for the post office! it's a summer we shall never forget!!

One good thing came out of this summer though - the birth of my our first grandaughter[:)] what joy she's bought.

Thanks to everyone on this forum life is bearable - and i have to give thanks that i'm healthy. i might not have any money but i have a very loving husband and family.

Wen

Wen

Those things are so more important than having a few debts - and you will recover from this as I am sure that you both still have so much to give to the business community either as owners or employees.

The very best of luck to all of you, and do read the various blogs on this site from people who have already declared themselves bankrupt - it is not as bad as you may think.
