Hi, spoke to equifax they say this has happened to lots of people's credit reports with them. They are aware of the situation and have passed my concern on to someone who will get this sorted.

They will let me know when this is sorted. The problem is this shouldn't have happened in the first place. I wish some at equifax could just explain how deleted court information can just reappear.

Not ideal, but at least they are aware of the situation and hopefully doing something about it. It would help if they answered people's online questions.

I would imagine they have accidentally used an old back up tape and lost / destroyed / overwritten the latest ones. However any decent computer dependant organisation should have a sister site with recent back ups, so why they cannot restore I have no idea.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I've normally had to wait 21 days when dealing with them for a response. Legally they have up to 28 days to send a response so you'll need to wait a little longer.

The thing is the data is never deleted, it's just surpressed on the system. Basically the data is there as historic but it doesn't show up on your report. It's all still on a server somewhere, somehow it's coming back onto the main credit report. Hope they get this fixed soon.

Just to add to this that I am currently in an IVA and mine is marked as satisfied with Experian, apparently I'm not on the insolvency register! I double-checked this and I'm still on. I have another 2 years left. My thinking is to wait until it's truly completed then tackle the problem with them.

If that's the case then this sets a dangerous precedent for something like this to happen again. Data should be irrevocably erased from the server and not hidden once the 6 year mark has been reached.

There is no need for this "old" data ever again in my view and certainly should never have been processed.

I agree I can't see any point of it. Also I don't think they do.

Nothing, they still haven't removed it. It's a real pain that you have to keep paying the monthly fee just to make sure equifax don't mess up like they are

I have phoned them they don't seem to be able to do anything. All they said to me is that they will pass it on and say they will get It sorted.
