Hi,

I'm new to the forums, and have a question which hopefully you can help me with.

I went through an IVA around 2 years ago (this was via a lump sum, which was agreed by the creditors).

My question is, would I be able to release some of the equity from my home now (e.g. via a remortgage)? Would this create any sort of problems with regard to the IVA which has been completed?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, and if these have already been answered then please feel free to point me in the right direction rather than re-type everything again.

Many thanks.
Chris.

The IVA will have no massive adverse effect on you applying for a remortgage as long as it was carried out satisfactorily (and by the sound of it, it has been).

Did you reach a full and final settlement on your IVA?

Yes it was a full and final settlement for the IVA, which was around 2 years ago.

Thanks for the help.

As the IVA is completed what you choose to do with your equity is entirely up to you!

As ThomasCharles states remortgaging now has no effect or bearing on your IVA at all.
