Hi all, sorry I haven't been around for a while - Dave and I have been away for a very eventful holiday!

A quick question about my credit files - yes, I'm still struggling with them!

I've had a copy of my file from Experian and it has 2 IVAs on it, both with the same dates and the same reference number. I am going to write to them and ask them to amend this, but can someone confirm the end date should be - Experian have it as 19/07/07 on both entries (which is the date of the termination letter from my IP), but should it be the date of my BR?

Also, the first entry says that if I have any questions about my IVA I should contact the Official Receiver, and the second entry says that I have met the conditions of the IVA! I'm confused! Do I need to worry about any of this?

Do tell us about the holiday Skippy. It sounds as if you have a few stories to share!

I didn't win - but we had a really great night (sore head today I am afraid!), and I met lots of old colleagues that I have not seen for years - so really enjoyable thanks.

Skip - do spill all, sounds like you had a bit of an adventure!

Melanie -that's a shame but you'll always be no 1 to all of us. I'm sure if clients got a vote you'd have won hands down. There's always next year and at least you had a great evening.

OK here goes!

I'd booked a week in Looe in Cornwall to say thank you to Dave for supporting me over the last couple of years.

When we got there on Saturday my heart sunk - as we drove across the bridge there'd been a landslide and a cottage had collapsed crushing a car. I didn't let it get to me though - I just thought at least it wasn't our cottage or my car! Anyway, when we did get to the cottage I realised that a landslide would have done it a favour! It looked derelict from the outside, but I still wasn't going to be put off - I was on holiday!

Once we got inside my determination to have a good holiday wavered - it was dirty, the chairs were stained and covered in hair, the toilet wasn't clean, the shower was dirty and mouldy!

The cottage was described as having an ensuite shower - it had a shower tray with a curtain round it in the corner of the bedroom! The bath took up most of the bathroom and you had to climb up some steps to get in and out, and when you stepped out of the bathroom one foot was on the 'landing' and the other one was over the stairs - pretty dangerous!

We phoned the company who let the cottage and they couldn't care less - she actually said that we weren't paying much for the cottage! I didn't know that cleaning was extra!

We asked if we could be moved and she said no, they had no cottages free - she didn't even offer to come and look to try and put things right.

We went for a walk around the town and it was horrible - it was dirty and there were groups of blokes standing outside the pubs and this was 4 o'clock in the afternoon! I wouldn't have wanted to walk round the town at night!

To top it all I had to throw my favourite boots away - I trod in dog poo outside the cottage and I didn't want them in the car with us!

We decided to leave and go to Pagham - another 4 hour drive. In the end we stopped off at Lyme Regis and stayed in a B & B for the night and went onto Pagham the following day.

I've written a letter to complain and ask for my money back - I don't think I'll get it but I've got to try. Wish me luck!

oh Skip, that sounds horrible. It's one thing having a strange setup but to be filthy as well is inexcusable. I hope you managed to enjoy the rest of the holiday and get your money back.

It sounds hideous - and your lovely boots! Were they the ones you were wearing at FF is Slough? I thought they were lovely.

Dig in for a refund, and threaten that you will name them and shame them on the internet if they do not sort this out.

Don't worry, I will!

I can't remember which boots I was wearing at Slough, but it definitely wasn't these - I had to throw away my super comfy walking boots! Luckily they weren't expensive, but it's not the point!

Oh Skippy, the cottage sounds dreadful! You must be able to get compensation, as Melanis says "name & shame" if need be, at least it will stop others from using the company.

Did you and Dave manage to enjoy despite all this?

xx

Skip, that sounds dreadful! That's a couple of lousy breaks you've had this year (your last one was illness if I recall correctly!)

Next years breaks can only get better!

The thing is we had booked through them once before and they were brilliant - they couldn't do enough for us. I've sent a letter of complaint by recorded delivery today, so I'll wait and see what they come back with...
