Hi all [?]
I would like to ask one question , I have a joint bank account with my wife my wages and my children tax credit is going into, I have started filling the forms to go BR, i removed my name from the joint account so now the account is in my wife's name, but my wages and the tax credit still go to this account can any one please tell me what will happen to this account as in the form they asked if i have any joint account in the last 2 years, will the bank freeze this account and has the OR any interrest in this account and the money in.note this bank is not one of my creditors it's been opened only 2 months ago.
thanks for your comments
regards

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question. I'm sure one of the experts will be along later.

However, if it were me, I would get my partner to open a new sole account in a bank not connected to any of my debt and use that one instead. That way that account would have had nothing to do with you at all.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to give the best advice though.

I agree with Johnz - better to be safe than sorry

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

When i entered into an IVA, my husband took his name off our joint account, and opened an account for himself, as he was now associated with my debt.

The OR will just want to know what portion of the monies held in the account belong to you. If the account is just used to receive your wages and pay bills, it is unlikely to be at any risk as a result of bankruptcy proceedings.
