Good Morning,
I have been in an IVA since June 2007, paying £304 per month on a debt of 38K.

My sister moved to Australia in 2009 and has offered me the chance to join her.
With this in mind, a friend kindly offered the sum of £3600 to settle the iva early.

I made this offer to Grant Thornton at the beginning of March 2011 and continued to make payments up until acceptance yesterday.

FYI: The F&F was accepted under the proviso that GT reduce their variation fees to £300 (from £600) and that they agree to provide a dividend no later than 3 months from now.

GT have advised me that it will take them between 3 and 6 months to complete my file. Is this usual?

Also, I have been advising GT for a few years now that the creditors listing they have for me is incorrect. I had a debt of approx 10k with Egg and they have listed it twice. I provided a account number/reference number but it appears that egg have provided a different one and this has caused confusion. I pointed this out to them prior to commencing the F&F but they still included it on the variation notice to creditors as an "increase in creditors" which is not correct.
I spoke to GT about this yesterday and they just said not to worry.
Should I worry or just be glad the F&F has been accepted?

Thank you for all your help!

Your very welcome Pebbles,

Im sure GT will have everything in hand, with my own IVA the creditors stated that the divided end had to be completed within 3 months of the end of my IVA, so 3-6 months probably sounds about right.

Good luck with your fresh start & debt free future! x

brilliant news ! A new life can now begin ! I would be chasing GT on a regular basis to get them to resolve the payments to creditors and the issue of your certificate - especially as you have some exciting plans a foot ! Enjoy the weekend and celebrate a little !

Fantastic news pebbles both on the IVA and the new life! I'm quite envious!

I would certainly badger GT to ask them to get this sorted asap and issue your letter of completion.

I was also thinking keep badgering them too, I know I will not feel it is over until I get the piece of paper saying completed!

Hi, we did a F&F IVA in Feb 2011 with help from my parents, we haven't got our certificate yet but i'm hoping it won't be much longer, we are with Melanie Giles team. it feels like the meeting was ages ago now but in fairness it wasn't.

like you i've had a few wobbles/panics as we are still getting letters from creditors - although not as many now, to the extent i've re read the email/report telling us the IVA was accepted. 1 creditor (who didn't vote) said they didn't know anything about a IVA!!!!eek!

like Mrsknight we won't really feel like this is sorted properly until we get our certificate.
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!
