Hi Everyone. My offer was accepted so the IVA is concluded and I am officially debt free! What a relief, and a great feeling.
All the best to eveyone else on their IVA journeys.
Seagull.

Brilliant news Nicola. I think your IP has done an excellent job all round for you and your creditors and she deserves a lot of credit too. Keep posting as it is inspiring to others to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Just caught up with this - don't know where I have been!

Congratulations Seagull, so glad it was accepted.

Debtmonkey, a full and final depends upon the reasons why it is being offered and how much you can offer to the creditors. Usually as close to your original dividend as possible may be acceptable.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. Yes, a great sense of relief. I am older, wiser and will definitely be remaining debt free forever! The IVA was stressful but I've learned so much about handling money so a positive side to the whole situation too.

Debtmonkey: I had 17 payments left of 444 per month but my I&E this year showed that I couldn't afford this any more and a figure of 250 was more realistic, I could have gone for a variation to the monthly figure but at the same time my sister was able to give me £5000 to offer as full and final settlement so in effect the creditors got what they would have got if the payment had been reduced over the rest of the term.
My IP was obviously able to put forward a very good case for me and I have her to thank for that. My job situation was beginning to look shaky too so that was a consideration also.

Thanks again to one and all for all the advice, help, support and good wishes.

Just caught up with your great news, haven't logged on site for a few weeks. My F&F was accepted last month too and your circumstances read like a carbon copy of mine. It's a great feeling isnt it !!
Six days after my F&F was accepted I was involved in a car crash (well 6 cars to be exact), car was written off but myself and my daughter escaped with minor injuries, we were very lucky - it was a roller coaster week to say the least!Like you too I have a completely different outlook on money and life. You start to realise what the important things are.
A message to everyone, it will be your turn one day (debt free not the car crash[:D]!!!!) but in the meantime - it's only money, as long as you have your health and loved ones, everything else is secondary.[8D]
