I have had no sleep for the past 2 days as we had our full and final variation meeting set for 10 am this morning. I have been hanging around the phone waiting for a call and have felt really sick.

Little did I realise that what actually happens is that the IP waits until the close of business to make sure all faxes etc are in before they let us know the outcome. I just rung them because I just couldn't stand it waiting any longer and started feeling really shaky and sick [:(]. The lady on the other end did advise that they would call us tomorrow with the outcome but so far, there have been no objections which is good, isn't it[?]

Gosh, I dont know how I am going to manage until tomorrow morning as I had set myself up to finding out for definate this morning.

Sorry, (seem to be doing a lot of that today) but I had to let off some steam otherwise I will burst with nerves. [:I]

Keep thinking positive, it is a very good sign that there have been no rejections as yet. All the best for tommorrow, hope you get a positive result.

If there have been no objections - the meeting should have closed five minutes after it started! Or do I assume that your IP has not recieved any votes at all?

Not sure to be honest. I got the impression that noone was there for the actual meeting as most had voted prior to it but it was apparently normal practise to inform you the day after the meeting in case of any later votes.

Was reassured after speaking with them that everyone had voted positively so as far as they were aware our offer was successful but I am now starting to panic a little again as I too naturally assumed we would here shortly after the meeting.

Hi
What a strange and ridiculous way to do business.Do they realise that this is your life that they are dealing with ? As Melanie has said you should have had a difinitive answer shortly after the meeting time.
The stories that I hear about on this forum never cease to amaze and annoy me.
I,m sure that it will be accepted

I find this whole thing absolutely bizarre, and would put money on it that you are with a large IVA volume processor rather than a specialist practitioner!

I had the call to say my IVA had been approved immidiately after the close of the meeting. Its actually the first time i have heard about somebody having to wait till the next day to be told anything.

Hi
I called my IP up after the meeting and was told immediately that my F+F offer had been accepted.I wonder if the IP had any responses at all and is chasing creditors up because they can hold the meeting again in two weeks time. It does happen.I originally had about 23 creditors. My IP received 1 vote for the F+F variation meeting and it went through on that one creditor. They had about £19k out of the original £150k debt.Just as well they voted yes.

Melanie, I really dont have a clue as to how big or specialist the company is but it is Wilson Phillips if that helps? We contacted a debt company we found on the web who filled out our forms and collated everything together and then passed it on to them.

We had never heard of IVA's before that so just went with the first company we came across and accepted whatever they had to say as we didn't have a clue!

Just wish we had found this website 3 years ago and we may have done things a little differently but like most people, you are so relieved to be told that that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you are so desperate to get out of the spiralling debt that you will grab with both hands and accept anything and everything to make that proposal go through. Our budget was really tight and some of our allowances seemed really low so it was a hard slog but in some respects, it made us appreciate the things we did have.
