After months of worrying and trying to convince myself that I was coping I finally made that call. As has been said on here many times before, just speaking to someone makes you realise that there is a solution out there. Thanks to Andy Davie for his non- judgemental advice. Although I am in the very early stages of my application for an IVA, I am looking forward to hopefully, a happy outcome!

Hi Lydon and welcome to the Forum.
Lifting the phone is often one of the hardest things a client can do and great to see Andy has put you at ease. Best of luck with your proposal and hopefully your debt problems will be resolved very soon.

I am sure that Andy will find you a very good IP to process your application, and good luck with everything. Making that first call is definately the right thing to have done.

Have sent off most of the paperwork, with the last couple of bits being sent off tomorrow, so hopefully our application can move on to the next stage. Managed to open a Co-op Cashminder account, and have received our cards within a week! Would be great to have it resolved before Xmas, fingers crossed!!

It certainly is. I'd probably still be sat, worrying, not knowing what to do, if I hadn't have found this place!!

We have now been appointed an IP from Bridgestones. They have informed us of the next step and the requirement for another couple of bits of paperwork. Unfortunately it looks like we may not get our creditors meeting this side of Xmas, due to office holidays etc, but at least we can see things moving on.

I was told the same by Bridgestones yesterday , but also told they will try their best to get the meeting in before . Obviously Christmas is a major time for the banks and also holidays tend to throw a spanner in the works . They say I should get the proposal early next week and given their past responses I fully expect it on Monday and will read it to death monday evening to be posted back (I think I have to ) tuesday morning .Then they have to give so many days notice to the creditors for a meeting (14 days?) which does teake things close to Christmas . I was also advised that there is a time period that can be added onto this 14 days to extend it .
Hope things pan out for you and we can all get these sorted before Christmas .
