We had a family meeting last night, they had offered to help with a lump sum payment, as I have not been too well lately, and work long hours. They made us feel so foolish, when we explained our circumstances and we where over the moon when they offered to help. Went round last night to be told they are withdrawing their offer due to the credit crunch and that they feel that we would have not learn't our lesson!!!!! I am gutted, but understand, just wish they hadn't all sat their making us feel useless again.

Keep at those payments - it will all be worth it in the long run and at least you will not have family debts to worry about.

I'm so sorry Gill. As Viki says you're not useless or stupid - keep going with the payments and hold your head high.

I hope your poor son is ok x

I have been driving round the street trying to find them, good job I didn't , I am so angry, i don't know what I would have done. Thanks for your kind wishes. My son was lucky, he had a serious accident last year and has been on crutches for a year, and only just walking!!!! He took a few kicks to his head, if they had kicked him in the hip, he would definately be back in hospital, so I guess you can say he was lucky!!!

Oh Gill ... I do hope that your son is ok, it can often be the after effects of these dreadful events that are worse, like him losing his confidence ... please give him our good wishes.

Sorry to hear about the withdrawal of the offer from your family ... keep your head held high and take confidence in the fact that you are in no way foolish but instead acting very responsibly in addressing your debt situation.

That is disgraceful Gill - what on earth is this country coming to. No wonder so many people are thinking of emigrating. I hope they catch them soon, as justice for your son and to stop them doing this to anyone else.
