Not too bad mate. Got another child now, only 5 weeks old so sleep is at a premium! Married Nicola and we still live near DFD offices. Good to here from you and look forward to our paths crossing on the forum!
Not quite got that elusive license yet unfortunately! Passed the personal paper and sitting other two next year. Although I am currently trying to get a IVA only license through IPA, think they using me a test case!
Hi
I agree with Michael that we have come under fire a little this month, ever since the Insolvency and Rescue awards. I have put a post on this week trying to give a little more background about the site and forum etc.
We all have to remember that ultimately there are many more people looking at the forum needing help and advice, than actually posting, and if we appear to be fighting amongst ourselves we are likely to frighten them off.
Let's keep it friendly and informal, as we nearly always seem to do
Without wanting to appear condescending to anyone, only persons holding a proper insolvency license (ie passed all three JIEB exams and holding the right piece of paper) can have IP status on this forum, and I do not accept that that distinguishes the quality of our advice in any way from the other forum experts whatsoever - whether we work in the profession, or are experienced through our own experiences.
In my opinion, insolvency licenses should be given to persons with full all round knowledge of personal and corporate insolvency, and it will be a sad day if we ever see a mini-licence for instance for someone with only experience of one aspect of the job. I do not believe this will happen, but I suppose the jury is out on that right now.
All of the issues raised on this thread, have been debated several times on the forum over the last four years in which I have been posting - so none of it comes with any great suprise. I am sure that Cynical, wearing whichever hat they are choosing to wear, will be smiling at the disruption and comment caused amongst my fellow professionals, and therefor his/her aim has no doubt been achieved until we meet again.
For all of the people actually looking for support and advice, this is adding absolutely no value whatsoever - but I am again once again grateful for the words of personal support from fellow professionals some of which I am fortunate to also be able to now call friends. This forum is fine as it is - let's all work hard to keep it that way.
It's turned into a bit of a DFD old boys thread! Dave also used to review my draft proposals a few years back. Hope all at DFD are well and hope the moderators keep doing a sterling job with dealing with any disruptive behaviour...
We always do our best to screen out non genuine posters as soon as possible after they post.

djgriffiths-7 jobs in 7 years-obviously not just the forum experts you have been winding up!!!! I have been in iva for two months and virtually every day something else comes to mind that worries me-usually when i go to bed.I do not instantly ring my ip-i look to this site and find a solution to my query-then i can sleep.Thats why the forum is here-for those of us thinking of an iva-just starting out or nearing completion.Often the answers i am looking for do not come from the experts but from joe public who have experienced what i have set out on.If you havent had an iva youself you cannot possibly understand how it feels-to me it felt like we were falling down a never ending money-pit with no way out.The advice on here is second to none and the arrogance and name-dropping which you yourself have posted show you to be a complete hypocrite. You seem to have set out to score brownie points with the firms and staff you have worked with-i for one would not welcome advice from someone so condescending.
As for melanie-no i am not with her company but wish i was-she is on this forum all times of the night and any free(expert) advice is good advice-well done Melanie and everyone else who posts on here-experts and all.

I am very happy to provide assistance to you Andrea whenever I am on the forum, and this will never undermine the good support you must be getting from your own IP as well.
