What was the rationale to stop being able to leave feedback on buyers? Anyone know? I thought this was a bit stupid.

Hope you get your money Skip.

I think it was to stop sellers leaving negative feedback for no reason. If you weren't happy with the item and left negative, they could say something negative about you even if you had paid on time.

Trouble is, we can't leave genuine negative feedback and I find that so annoying.

Google Auction Sites Skippy. There are loads of good sites out there and a lot of them cheaper and some cases more secure than ebay.

The rationale behind sellers not leaving feedback is to protect the buyer...some buyers apparently wanted to leave non positive feedback before, but never did as they were afraid of getting a reciprocal non positive.

Sellers on eBay have been messed about loads..business sellers have to have a minimum 14 day return policy (despite the DSR allowing for a minium of 7), must have their address (and lets fact it a lot of ebay business sellers operate from their home) on their listings or at least on a 'me' page, shops are now invisible and now they have gone and changed the fee structure again.

I agree there are other, better auction sites out there..but they don't have as many customers as eBay...yet!

I quite like eBid myself!

I'm glad I'm not a business seller! I shall just stick to putting the odd things on when it's cheap listing.

i think the feedback is wrong you cannot even leave neg feedback for buyers even if a dispute is opened for non paying etc
once a dispute is opened and the buyer doesnt respond or pay for the item you should be able to leave neg so that other sellers are aware that they dont pay

I opened the dispute yesterday as I still haven't received payment, or any sort of acknowledgement - it's such a pain as the top only sold for £6.75! I want to relist it, but I also want my fees refunded, so I suppose I've got to wait. Hopefully she'll decide to pay, but I'm not holding my breath!

I don't think you have to wait long before you can close the dispute. I think they have ten days to respond, if they don't you can request a final value credit.
