With hubby being at home all day we'd never use one. He loves cooking and is loves nothing more than to make a big pot of something, constantly tweaking it as he goes. It's chilli and jacket slid tonight when I get home from work.

Hi all, Im sorry I haven't posted for a couple of weeks - we were all hit with flu so have been a bit out sorts and out of routine but all feeling much better now.

Firstly, thank you all so much for your wonderful comments, so heartwarming and reassuring and lovely. It's great to have such wonderful support and I agree with everyone - quality time with children is so much better than expensive gifts and I know deep down Im doing the best I can.

A friend of mine visited the other day and I found myself making excuses about the house in need of repairs etc... she wasn't in the least bit interested in any of that... she came to see me and the boys not my house!!

Well I had 2 great pieces of news on Monday just past... firstly my son had his follow-up appointment at the hospital from the endoscopy he recently had and the good news is that everything is working just fine but the results showed that he has a lactose intolerance... I was so relieved that it was nothing serious and just a food intolerance. So now I have to educate myself on a lactose free diet for him... another little journey.

The second great piece of news is that also on Monday my IVA was approved!!!! I still quite can't believe it. Barclaycard rejected the proposal so I had to increase my payments by £38 in order for them to accept but we can reshuffle our budget hopefully to manange this.

Im really in shock but also have a great sense of calm as well. I check the insolvency register this morning and my name is there in black and white - i probably won't look at that again for another 6 years.

From a place of pure panic and worry I now feel the tide is turning and now i can gain control of my life once more... I am so relieved.

I want to thank this forum for the amazing support I received in the past couple of months - I know I've said it before but Im going to say it again... without this forum I not be in an IVA right now... but I feel it is the absolutely best thing I could have done to sort out my situation... so a big thank you to you all.

Also I would like to say a big thank you to McCambridge Duffy... the whole process from the first time I contacted them to the IVA was seamless... they were abosultely brilliant, professional and understanding.

My first payment doesn't go out until November so I will be doing the ticker then.

Right off to do my budget!

Thank you everyone and I will be posting as often as I can xx

Sorry to hear you've been ill but glad you're feelig much better. Good news about your son too, don't know much about lactose intolerance but I'm sure you'll learn well. Wow a good week in respect of your IVA, well done and hope your journey to debt freedom is a very smooth one. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

How lovely to see you again and glad you have recovered from the flu.

Brilliant news about your son not having anything serious, you should be able to sort out the lactose intolerance. He'll have to get used to soya milk though!!!!

Congratulations on the IVA being accepted as well and well done to McCambridge Duffy.

I hope you will keep posting so we know how you and your family are getting on.

Congrats - from myself also

Dont be afraid to make sure you claim for any special diet items that you sons needs - and if you like cooking look at the information on cookery books for lactose intolerance - as the ready made stuff is a way overpriced.

Thnak you Kallis, Lesley and Ginger... it's such a relief - Im still in shock - the boys start half term today so I don't have to do the school run in the morning so Im thinking... a cheap bottle of plonk tonight! lol

I couldn't put in about the dietery requirements because the iva was approved in the morning and my sons appointment was in the afternoon so I didn't know until then. Still once Ive done some research if it's proving expensive I will ring my ip and explain - at the minute I have no idea how expensive non lactose stuff is.

By the way Kallis I've been doing the surveys and they're great.. going to treat myself with them at christmas.

Im feeling so much more in control... a far cry from a couple of months ago. Thank you all xx

Glad the surveys came in useful - I love them!

Hopefully it won't prove too expensive but if so, do get in touch with your IP.

Agree - if you do need special foods which cost more then I'm sure your food expenditure can be altered.

Hopefully it won't cost too much money to fund his intolerance.
