and im just in the very early stages of setting up an iva ive never been the best at talking to people over the phone and i dont seem to have been off the thing all day.
never the less i think i have requested and found out every thing i need to.
so its probably a job well done

i find reading out what i owe to each creditor especially sickening and i must have done it numerous time over the last six months

anyone else feel this way whilst starting up an your iva ?

It sounds like you have done a good days work there Fuzzy - and just think how helpful all of the research will be for your IP!

My clients tell me that the worst bit is actually adding up the debts, but at least you know you are now doing something about yours so that is the main thing.

Thats a feeling that most people on this forum will understand. Its a natural reaction i suppose when the reality of it all sets in.
Remember though, you are now doing your best to deal with your debts and you should be very prod of yourself for that.

I think we've all been there! The hardest thing for me wasn't the maths but picking up the phone! It took me ages and I've never shook so much!!
You're doing a great job and should be proud of yourself for getting this far. It gets easier every time and you're no longer alone.
take one day at a time and you'll make it.

I couldn't believe it when I realised just how much our debts were. That was my worst moment.

I have to confess that I chickened out of the phone call - I made hubby do it!

Felt so much better afterwards though.[:)]

I was the same Cat, totally out on my figures. It was shocking! I put off "the phone" call too but afterwards felt so much better. Fuzzy, you'll be fine, hang in there. [:)]X

Hi Fuzzy,

I think this is the same for everyone, even those who are able to pay their debts - it is really easy to lose track of the bigger picture.

We speak to a lot of people in your situation Fuzzy and there are 2 things i can assure you of...
1. You are at the start of a solution that will put you back in control of your finances.
2. You are not alone - there is a great network of support on this forum to help you.

Good luck

Hi Fuzzy,
Like the others I know that sick feeling all too well - I could have fainted when I worked out what the debts were. I couldn't beleive the figure was so big, but it was.
Well done on a productive day and positive thoughts being sent for the next few weeks while you get your solution up and running. You've done the hardest bit and faced the problem head on...keep up the good work,
Hugs,
Chardonnay
