I rather get the impression that this is company kayleigh has approached for an IVA.

Having looked at their website, they appear to mainly do DMP's and it doesn't say anything about them having their own IP.

Sounds a bit like something has gone askew.

Melanie - they were of those I first phoned- told me that creditors HAVE to accept IVAs because the law is on my side. Said I would only have to pay £200. I knew that was rubbish before I even started

Which IP firm is behind them David - they are based in your manor in Altrincham.

I'd say the Midlands has moved then, unless they class Cheshire as the Midlands!

I would always be wary of a firm who wouldn't give me their exact location.

Debtsure Limited was incorporated in Sept 2007 has filed a notice to change their accounting period from 30.9.08 to 31.03.08 and filed dormant status accounts to that date showing 3 shares issued and £3 as cash in hand or at bank.

It is owned by 3 separate individuals with addresses in Altrincham, Knutsford and Sale and they use a PO Box Number!

I have never heard of these individuals but I will make some enquiries.

So a new company only that has referred Kayleigh to Grant Thornton (GT) - presumably in Belfast?

GT are fine but do wonder exactly what Debtsure have done for the money Kayleigh has paid them. Kayleigh ask GT what it was for or get it back.

Hope you tell them to stop telling fibs to their potential customers - they could get people in a worse mess than they are already. Creditors have to accept IVAs, rubbish!

Hi Everyone

The judge has adjourned the bankruptcy for three months and IDS collections cannot serve any more papers on me until that time is up. He also had a go at the solicitor because all the figures were wrong and the amended papers had not been served on me. Not even stamped by the court. What a relief.
Thank you for all your support and advice

Good news Kayleigh, that gives you a bit of breathing space and thank goodness for a bit of common sense! These collection agencies have got to start realising they're not exempt from the law.
Well done !

The original papers stated that the amount owed was £2,200, it was actually £6,000 and I pointed this out to IDS collections who said that didn't matter as they could just strike out the wrong figure with a red pen on the day. Then last week 6th April they issued amended papers but these had not been stamped by the court or served on me. Mind you the judge had already adjourned the case before he pointed the errors to the creditors solicitor. It felt really good to know that the judge can be on the side of the debtor.
