So yesterday the final ever payment for my IVA was taken from my bank account. After 5 long long years it's finished and done, no more payments to make. Yipppeeeeee!

I know I have to wait for it to be all signed closed off ect but I think from today for the first time in 16 years I can call myself debt free!
In and IVA and looking forward to the future

Thanks Skippy. Im pleased but still worrying about the EIC thing. I have told them I want to opt out but theres been a couple of missed calls on phone and it says number is unavailable, worried it might be them. Cant go back to the days of hiding from the phone. I have a horrible feeling Im going to be one of those people waiting for one year plus for my completion certificate from GT! Bitter sweet eh?

Well done Ianhrp and sonj77 - here's to your debt free present (its no longer a future dream!).

Good luck for the last 6 months too Jerrylee - its not that far away although don't want to think about Christmas having been and gone by then when we are still waiting for summer! Either way the end is still so much nearer than the start was!

Best wishes all :-)

Congrats to both of you. I just sent my paperwork today for my 4th year review and now praying that I am on the count down for the next 12 months and my 4th year review will not though up any complications as I private rent my home so my IVA is for 60 months. Good luck for a debt free future

Well done - it feels great when it's over - a bit strange a first. I even feel a bit guilty.

Don't worry about the EIC thing - I think when GT realise how little money is to be made in trying to reclaim bank charges - after so long - it'll just fade away.

Sometime soon you'll get a note to say your case is passed to the closure team. At that point start asking for an update and a time line and keep doing it until you get your certificate. Firm but pleasant.

I was never asked to do PPI and told them I did not feel bank charges had caused me severe hardship - the fact I was juggling 10 credit cards did that.

Good luck and don't worry the worst part is over.
