What great news for a rainy, cold Sunday evening Steve. I am so pleased for you and just at the right time of year as well. Does this mean you will be able to look at the IVA again now?

Great news Steve, really pleased, have followed your story over the last few weeks and I am so happy you appear to be having some better luck.

Thanks everyone. I will definatly be looking down the IVA route again Melanie, the question I do have though and I know it's still early days but how long would it be before I could actually think about proposing an IVA? I'm assuming a few months?

At the same time though our landlord is looking at moving back from overseas towards the middle of next year which means we will have to find somehwere else to live. Should we save a deposit and then look down the IVA route [obviously if the job works out], or take the IVA route as soon as we can and then when the time comes to move on, discuss possible payment breaks to fund a deposit?
Steve.

Hi Steve

If you can manage to keep creditors at bay for a short while, I would try and put a little money aside to cover your rental deposit etc before proposing an IVA - however there is no harm in starting the ball rolling at an earlier stage as an IP will have plenty of work to be getting on with in the meantime.

Personally I would wait until you have received your first full month's salary, just to see whether you like the job and they like you (which I am sure is without doubt!)

Thanks Emma and Lily. I will leave it until after Christmas then I think, but will try and make some kind of token payments once money is flowing into the bank again.
