I first came on here as a frightened emotional wreck just before Christmas in 2010, went through the trauma of having to default all our £60k worth of debt and the seemingly never ending phone calls and demands while we took loads of advice regarding an iva which was finally agreed in 2011.

It's been a roller coaster few years but finally, a couple of days ago we received our completion certificates and this whole nightmare has come to an end, almost.

We haven't celebrated, the relief has left us underwhelmed and deflated to be honest, there's been a multitude of emotions over he last few years and it's just business as usual now I guess.

Anyhow, it will still stay on our files for another year, but having seen doneitovers post about the insolvency register not being updated for over 4 months and only now since they've emailed them are they saying it will be on there for another 3 months am I panicked.

Our completion certificates are dated 25th feb, it's now 2nd March and although I appreciate we are still on the register, both Ivas still say current. I would have expected them to have been amended to completed by now.

I have emailed them this morning with copies of our completion certificates, I need mine off there ASAP as I've just been offered a new job but it will involve an insolvency check and I can't afford to lose this job of my dreams over a technicality like this. My immediate new line manager knows about the iva and she told me it won't be an issue but I still can't rest until I know for sure.

Anything else I should be doing?

You can only do what is within your control.

Congratulations on getting this far.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Fingers crossed that it gets removed soon. I would speak to your IP and make sure that they have sent a copy to the IS.

Hello

First of all massive congratulations on completing your IVA.

You definitely need to celeberate!

The register can't be sped up I'm afraid - it will come off by 25.05.16 - there is nothing you can do as far as I am aware to do anything about this.

As you have finished your IVA you are no longer insolvent - worst case scenario you will give your potential new employer a copy of your CC if it becomes an issue but you can genuinely tick the box to not currently solvent or in an arrangement etc.

Sometimes the record comes off the ISR before three months, both mine and my husbands were off within two weeks.

Just keep checking to see when it comes off.

Will do, thanks. I've had the vetting questionnaires today and they do ask if you are in an iva to which I've ticked no, (it feels so good to say that!) and it also asks if you are insolvent to which again I've ticked no. I've phoned the vetting dept up and spoke to them about it and they've said it's absolutely fine and nothing to be concerned about, they've said to just put a side note next to it to say that the Register still says its current but it's completed and to take a copy of my certificate with me to the vetting appt, so fingers crossed it should all be ok
