It was Diwala yesterday so that probably accounts for the majority of last night's fireworks.
I agree that they should be banned in this country. They are a nuisance.

I remember the Millenium and going outside at just after midnight and seeing Magpies flying away! People just don't think about animals at all do they?

Now don't get me started on Halloween! I'll be taking the battery out of the doorbell - Harry's not bothered by fireworks but he hates the doorbell! I won't be answering the door at all that night.

How are things with you 1 Step? I'm muddling along as usual!

Hubby loves Halloween but this year we'll be out.

I'm good thanks, been doing lots of walking and actually getting a bit more toned, always good! Was up the Skirrid again this morning.......managed the Sugar Loaf a couple of weeks ago. Deceptively steep that one!

I hate it - it's ok if it's children being taken to houses they know with their parents, but when you get the teenagers intimidating people it's gone too far.

I also have a problem with fireworks being sold for Halloween - at the moment it's eggs thrown at your house, no doubt a few mindless idiots will be throwing fireworks.

Well done on the walking! I've no idea where you're talking about, but it sounds impressive!

We buy a few sweets for Halloween in case, but as far as I am concerned, it is something they celebrate in the States, not here. They get a couple of bags of sweets and that's it!

I hate Halloween and Bonfire night!

I'm usually at work, so it's left to hubby to deal with it!

It's about time we stopped following the US with celehrating things.

Who cares about Halloween? We don't - we only get a few sweets in just to keep the local kids sweet (if you pardon the pun!)

Last year we had no 'trick or treat' at all.

I like the cheesy horrors they tend to put on tv! We get the littlies with parents who are usually quite cute (except one year I was dressed ready to go to a party and scared one lot half to death heh heh) but any teens with masks get told "on yer bike mate".

Last year we had no-one. all the more sweeties for us!

Don't know about that! I don't eat sweets now, so really don't care if we have anyone round or not. Daughter will eat the sweets if we don't!

I always get some sweets in but nobody ever comes and my hubby ends up eating them, we have never allowed our children to do it as I don't see the fun in it, I see it as begging, but that's me being a misery again I'm sure. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I can see both sides to this - I never did it as a child but infortunately there is too much peer pressure and shop marketing to ignore it.

Once the littlies have gone, lights off, strong curry, decent horror!

Bliss!

although one year I remember hubby was out and I decided it was me and the remote control.......there was nothing decent on, and I mean nothing....I was soooooooooo bored!

I agree with you Lesley, I really don't see the point in it. If I had kids there's no way I'd let them do it.

It was never a thing when daughter was young (I'm glad to say) but it does seem to have taken off, but having been in the States at the same time of year, it is so much better over there.
