argh ... I just received my first 'phone call from a creditor ... I told them that I was not in but would be back around noon ... what am I to tell them? I am sure my iva consultant told me to say that I was in the processing of arranging an iva ... but I am not sure if I tell them who is arranging it ... it has not started yet as the meeting with the creditors is this coming Tuesday.

I felt so alarmed when I heard them on the 'phone ... I started arranging the iva before I had missed any payments.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

No need to worry about calls at all. I have spoken to all my creditors and advised them that I was having an IVA proposal drawn up. You will continue to get calls for some time after any IVA being accepted as the computer systems take a while to update.

My creditors meeting is next Friday!.

I gave the creditors the IVA company details and the date of creditors meeting. To be honest my calls have now tapered off as they can put things on hold for up to 10 days.

Good luck on Tuesday teapot.

Don't worry about the calls, they will happen! If you don't want to speak to them, just refuse to answer the security questions. If you do speak to them, don't get into an argument and don't let them bully you into making a payment.

Once you have been accepted then calls should stop. I had one on the date of the meeting and nothing after that. A few people do continue to be hassled, but mostly you won't hear anything else.

Good luck for Tuesday!

If your creditors meeting is next week, the creditor concerned should be more than aware of this and also know that it is pretty pointless phoning you at this stage - everything you need to say has presumably been said in the proposals.
