Robbiecat I used to work in the court service and in a call centre and reception for Telewest so I think that was good grounding for dealing with creditors! After being threatened with having my face 'smashed in', creditors were more annoying than upsetting!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I have been so lucky in comparison to some posters, to date I've only had to speak to M&S once and now they've left me alone, I do write regularly though, every 4th Thursday to all creditors of myself and husband to update them on the progress of my case. Barclaycard do ring sometimes but always manage to do so when I'm at work and ask me to ring back (answer phone) but I never do! Husband explained to HSBC once and they've only rang back once. All I keep thinking is it will soon be over (fingers crossed). I think I would have changed my number if I was getting calls at all times during the day as I don't think I could cope with it. We're all doing our best to get out of our individual situation we're in, I appreciate they are only doing a job, however, there is no excuse for rudeness or threatening behaviour from either party. Just end the call if they are rude or threatening, I know I would and they have the same option.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I know the post i'm commenting on was last December, but your comment regarding how you dealt with the Barclays bloke has just made me feel 100 times better.

thanks mate

The persistence of the callers does wear you down, but I can't say any of them have been rude. I just had a call from Monument inviting me to enter a voluntary arrangement with them rather than an IVA - they said it was better because failure to meet a monthly payment was negotiable with them but fatal to an an IVA!
A word of praise for Northern Rock, though. They only rang once and, when I told them I had sent the standard JonesGiles advice she was apologetic and said "in that case I should't be speaking to you at all" I felt like saying "you can speak to me any time you like - much nicer than the other callers" 2 days later I received a letter confirming the call and advising that they would not ring again. However badly they may have been managed at the top, their staff customer service training is spot on.

Bu the way, Andy, impressed by the new photo - very smart!!!

How nice to hear about polite customer service for a change!

Most of my creditors were a pain, I ignored them mostly on the phone, and just sent letters informing them I would only deal in writing. Made no difference though!
