Well its been a long, stressfull and worrying road to get here but our I.V.A has been accepted with just a very few minor adjustments. We posted the acceptance for the adjustments off yesterday and I've been to the bank to set up a standing order. The first payment is due on 26th April 2013. It will probably be a 6 year I.V.A, unless our house comes out of negative equity which would be amazing, but another year is very little compared to all the stress and worry thats been flying around our household lately. I did try setting up a blog last week, but it appears to have been cancelled due to a load of spam messages so I am knocking that one on the head. I will just post on here from time to time with an odd update, thats if anybody is interested of course:-)[:D]

Fab news - it's a lovely feeling when accepted isn't it. Even if you have to do 6 years it's less time than it would have taken to pay off all your debts.

Take another look at your proposal though. If you are in negative equity in 4 - 5 years time you may not have to extend.

Try again with the blog. It has helped many people. Because of spam probs - I saved mine as a word doc then cut and pasted onto the blog. Saves having to retype it all if it disappears!

Thanks Kazzafunk, it sure is a great feeling and a positive move. I have already checked the proposal and it does state that if we are still in negative equity at 4.5 years it is our I.P's decision. We are just thinking it will be for 6 years and if it isn't then it will be a nice bonus at 5 years:-)

Hello and welcome. Here's to a smooth journey, be it 5 or 6 years. Try the blog again -- it is very cathartic ( and you might win a prize ).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Seems strange that if you develop some equity then your IVA will finish at 5 years, normally its the other way round!, but good luck on your journey anyway
