You're heading in the right direction and travelling alongside you is Melanie and her team and I'm confident you could not have chosen better. My journey is coming to a close with Melanie and I can 100% say with all honesty, you're in safe hands.

I remember the guilt and the sleepless nights, try and relax let Melanie and co do their stuff and I am sure they'll get you further down that road to debt freedom in no time. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi

I have just gone into the IVA process, had my phone call with Mel today.

Please do try to stop worrying as it will not help, I know it easier said than done.

I found that being honest with my creditors really helped and made me feel more at ease.

I had called them to advise that I cannot afford payments and that I have applied for an IVA.

Most of them were really nice and said they wills top the calls to a certain point until I have got my date of creditors meeting. My only problem is with Vanquis who ring me 5 times a day at home and work and even though i tell them, they still ring hassling me.

I also send any letters or correspondence to Mels team to keep on file.

Please do not worry, I know the feeling all to well as I have just made the steps and the first ones are the hardest. But you will soon feel the weight lifting of your shoulders. Mels call today put me at real ease and now I just feel a little bit of weight only from the creditors meeting which is the part where you find out the decision.

But I do feel better knowing I can now live again and hope for a happy debt free future.

harrysmummy78 glad you feeling a little better today, we all know that feeling of not paying, what will happen? we dont know where to turn and I know we thought the very worst and that the world would swallow us up, but let me tell you Mels team are fantastic, they would not put a proposal through that they did not think would be accepted, I always felt i was asking 101 questions and always the same one and at no time was i made to feel i was asking the same thing twice, your in good hands and think your now on the first steps and Mels team are holding your hands on every one. Good luck

Hi harrysmummy78,

I remember that feeling of my first missed payments well, of entering the point of no return, of stepping into the unknown.

I know it`s easy for all of us on the forum to tell you to try not to worry, but really you needn`t...you are in the best hands with Melanie`s company.

The only regret I have about my IVA is that I didn`t do it years sooner, wasting so much time and thousands of pounds on interest just paying the minimum each month servicing debts that never reduced.

I have the same regret Goosed, it easy to see it now but at the time my head was so deep in the sand, I wish i had done my IVA years before instead of juggling every month just paying interest, min payments and PPI ;0)

You will look back on this feeling Harrysmummy78 and be able to tell those that are in the same boat to try and not feel the same way

Goosed, I think that final paragraph is a universal regret. I spent years juggling and only managing to pay the interest, the debt hanging there like the Sword of Damacles.

That's one way I resolve my fears about the IVA --- the monthly payment is less than the interest I was paying, but, at the end of five years WITHOUT an IVA I would have paid out in the region of £30,000 and still been in as much debt, if not more ----- assuming I survived the 5 years !!!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
