First thing this morning, I emailed through to Melanie to make contact with a professional and find out more. I took my son to school, popped to the bank and paid some money in, and as I walked through the door at 10.30 a member of her team phoned. 1 1/2 working hours. IMPRESSIVE!

I have booked an appointment to have a first telephone interview for next week with Tina - she was so pleasant on the phone - and I have already received a confirmation email from her including direct contact details. Again very impressive.

Today had been the first day for a week that I haven't cried.

I hope others have had a positive day too.

Making that initial call is very rewarding, almost to the point of lifting a weight off your shoulders (or that's how it felt for me), I too had a telephone interview etc., and all I can say Tina will make you feel at ease and nothing is too much trouble. I'm with Melanie's firm and can only sing their praises. Stay positive you're with one of if not the best IP's around.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thank you Aguise and isthereanend.

This forum is great too, so glad I found it. This situation can leave you feeling very isolated and despondent about the future. And whilst I wouldn't wish this on anyone, its good to know that there are other out there who understand how I am feeling.

Have a good weekend everyone.

That first phone call is one of the hardest things to do and you feel so much better after. my company was great on that first phone call to, so understanding and non judgmental, it felt like talking to someone I had known for years, and put me a t complete ease. You very much need to know there is someone to ask at this point with any queries you have, so much goers through your head.
All the very best you will be fine.
ps change your name cos I dont think your stupid. lol

I knew you would feel relieved when you had things moving.

Tina is so lovely and totaly non-judgemental and that makes it so much easier when you feel ashamed and embarrased enough[:I]

She will guide you through everything and by the end of the call you will feel so much better.

I felt such a relief when I went to Melanie as had total confidence and that helped lift the worry a lot as I knew I was getting great honest and professional advice.

Best of luck

Please get Admin to change your name - you're not stupid at all as you have faced up to your problems and done something about them. I also can't bring myself to start a post with 'Hi Stupid'!

Hi,
Totally agree about changing the name, like skippy I just can't start with Hi Stupid, as you are not! you are doing something about your problems and that is most definitely not stupid.
I am so pleased you made the call, it is a big step and a hard thing to do, well it was for me so I know how you feel. But don't you feel soooo much better now? Things will really start to look brighter for you from now on and you will feel much better inside. You are in great hands with Melanie and the team who will look after you, Tina is lovely and will make you feel at ease and help you through the first stages. Everything will be ok now, you will get through this and we are all here for you whenever you need help, advice or just fancy a chat, or a shoulder to cry on. You are not alone in this so keep posting and good luck.
All the best
Mike

Just to add that I too made that call and spoke to Tina. I was in total dispair and although I feel a bit worse for a while because going through things with Tina was really shocking and made me face up to my situation.

Once I'd done that though I made lots of changes even in the 1st week and felt amazingly better about mysituation. Better than I can remember in years actually.

I'm now applying for an IVA and my info has been sent to Melanie so I'm tenderhooks but you've totally done the right thing.

Keep posting on here. I find reading the threads helps a lot.

Now get that name changed! "Smarter" maybe?
