Dear adacrash,

Thank you very much for your post and welcome to the forum. Mish is right, you are not alone. You are with people who understand what you are going through.

You don’t have to see the whole staircase before you take the first step and I think you have just done that.

Could you please tell me who your creditors are and if you have any equity on your property? also do you have your trading accounts for the last 2-3 years?

Kind regards,

Hello adacrash

Judt wanted to say I can identify with you so much, it feels like everything and everyone is against you at the very time you realise what a mess you are in. I can so identify with the having to pull over to cry thing, the times I just wanted to keep driving and never face up to it. However, its normal to feel alone and in utter panic and the appearance that others are doing better is quite normal when you feel so lost and hopeless. Everyone will have their own problem though and may be thinking the same about you with your lovely wife and kids. I am no fairy god mother but I found a way forward in the hopelessness just as you will. You have what is important your wife and kids, money can never buy that, just take a minuite to calm down. Work out an average yearly amount of earnings and post detail of how much you owe in unsecured debt. Then one of the experts will be able to help guide you through a possible solution. I am just another person dealing with debt but I felt just as you do in the beggining. We are here to offer support, advice and a way forward, please dont give up.

just like to welcome you both to the site, you are certainly not alone, we have all felt the same as you and understand where you are coming from, its a horrible time, especially when you realise you are knee deep with out a paddle, you need to calm down as lilly says, we are all here to give you support and share our journey and knowledge with you, what i tell most posters is "you owe money not your life" you are facing up to your problem from here in, and no matter what the outcome you will be the better person for it and be released from the pain, look at many solutions and take time to work out what the best one is for you, be realistic, don't be drastic, if you are told one thing and you don't agree then don't sign to anything as you are the ones who have to live this life, remember if you want to go for an iva, it is 5 yrs and you have to work to a tight budget to make it work and you have to be prepared to do this otherwise it will fail and you will be back at square one, i wish all newbies good luck

Hi - good welcoming messages from the earlier posters. What you need now is to take some professional advice about your situation, and find an insolvency practitioner who can outline the options available to you are give your advice about the advantages and disadvantages of each one. As Julia says, the first step is usually the worst and you are over that one simply by admitting you have a problem and seeking advice.
