Try contacting Declan - he is usually pretty good at helping DFD's clients out when he can.

Hi Grumpie - hope you get the answer yout looking for. It is already suggesting IVA reduce payment - but unless there is an income to pay these.
Because of major changes in circumstances - has it been suggested to request a "accept payments to date" - then hopefully once and for all get rid of the IVA.
Hi Grumple - it doesn't sound like the person you spoke to understood your situation. With potentially two job losses, you can extend until the cows come home but it's not going to get anyone anywhere. And if your husband is retired through ill health and you need to pay commercial rate rent then your single salary is unlikely to stretch to the IVA. I don't think they have quite grasped this. Have you asked about accepting payments to date as a full and final? xx
Hope Declan can back to you - it does sound as though a full and final might be in order.

Thanks for all your replies. I've not been on for a few days, been trying to put it out of my mind for awhile!
We have just sent in year 5 I & E, we had to re-use the form from last year with another column added as we have not had an annual pack from DFD and the review is due May 6th. Does anyone else have to chase DFD every year for their review?
After your advice, in the covering email with the review we have asked to make an appointment to speak to our IP via telephone. At least then we'd be able to give all the details over.
We would be able to make reduced payments when I lose my job for however long my husband remains employed. The only thing that worries me is the fact that my husband's condition is worsening almost daily and I do not think that I will be able to look for another job because he needs looking after and ferrying to the endless hospital appointments.
If there was anyway we could end this early it would be great (one less thing to worry about) but I don't think it is likely, to extend it would be the end of the world.
We'll just have to wait and speak to our IP.
It's been a long road getting from there to here but it's been worth it!
I do hope Declan can pick up on this next week, otherwise you can email him via his details on his profile on the forum for him to look into things for you.
I am hoping that you can get this sorted by a full and final - you need to be concentrating on your husband and his health rather than your finances.

Try not to worry too much...easy for me to say I know! I'm sure your creditors will empathise with your situation. Hopefully Declan will get involved next week. xx
We have not had our emails requesting a telephone call from our IP at DFD acknowledged. Does anyone know how to get hold of our IP directly?
My husband's condition is even worse, he is suffering from regular falls and I'm worried about him being at home alone during the day. Has anyone given up work whilst in an IVA - is it allowed? I will lose my job in less than 2 months anyway (maybe sooner - my boss is not happy with me taking time off to take OH to hospital) so was wondering if that could be an option.
OH job is still safe for now pending a definite diagnosis. once received he may be medically discharged.
I need to speak to my IP for answers but only get call centre staff when I ring up. Any ideas? I have already sent a personal email to Declan but guess he is still on holiday. This is driving me to distraction as this is the last thing I need to be worried about [:(]

You should be able to get your IP's direct e-mail address from the Insolvency Service website under "Find an IP" - but hopefully Declan will pick up on this tomorrow for you and act as go between. What you are suggesting sounds very sensible to me.
I'm rather hoping Declan will be back this week - it's been a while since we've seen him.

In my final year, I put in an offer of half the amount left to pay...
I stated my wife is no longer employed and we were splitting up anyway meaning extra rent and so on.
I stated my mother would be paying the cash.
They bit my hand off. Couldn't beleive it!
They had the 12 months extension open to them too.

Thanks for your help. I've been on the website and found our IP email address and I have just sent the email.
I can only hope that we receive a response sooner than later as I am mostly concerned about OH being at home alone.
Unfortunately, we do not have any funds to make a full and final settlement and do not think that we could ask any family members to bail us out for £6K (half of our final year)The creditors asked for 43p in the pound if they let us finish with payments to date they'd only get 37pish (if my maths is right!)
Just have to wait and see if the IP responds....
