Hi Duff

It sounds as if your IVA has already been transferred to a new IP - I think that IVA solutions were bought by one of the larger firms - Debt Free Direct perhaps - so a new IP will have been appointed.

Although this may seem strange to you, it is almost impossible for you as the party to the IVA to seek to change to an alternative IP. You would need to either get a resolution of creditors (very unlikely that your IP would agree to this) or revert to Court at your own cost and then you would need to show very good reasons.

Who is your current IP firm, and is there any reason why you are not happy with the service?

It doesn't matter what other people say - if this firm are doing a good job for YOU that is all that matters!

You sound as if you have two lovely little boys - treasure them and promise yourselves that you will give them a big treat when your IVA is finalised.

Feel free to chat whenever you want to Duff - that is what this forum is all about and you will find many friends who want to help and support you.

And don't worry about your eldest son. My step son left school at 16 beacuse he hated school, and just wanted to earn some money. At the age of 23 he realised that this was a silly move (he is quite bright!), and decided to go back to school to do his "A" levels which then culminated in him going to university and gaining a 1st class honours degree and a prize!
There will be time aplenty for your boys to catch up at a time when you can afford to help - and there is always nightschool in between

I left school at 16 as I knew my parents couldn't support me through college - not that I really wanted to go then anyway! I'm planning on doing an Open University course next year so there's plenty of time for your sons - I'm 33 next year!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
