There was a Kitten hanging round work on Tuesday. Everyone was saying "it'll find its way home, leave it" but my Gut feeling was that it was lost, so I took it home. I rang round local vets and it turns out it had been missing for two weeks and it was soon reunited with it's owner. That made me feel really good inside:)

I bet the owners were pleased, well done dunkynuts. I'd be like you, could never have left the kitten, I'd have worried myself sick.

It's always good to hear of a loved pet being reunited with a loved one. I've never been a fan of micro chipping but admit to having the dog done the other day despite the fact he doesn't go far...we've become a bit too protective of him now we've lost the other one.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I've only just seen this - I'm so glad the kitten was reunited with his humans (obviously cats dont have owners!).

I had Harry microchipped as soon as we got him and his collar tag says microchipped in case he wanders (not that I can see that happening, it would involve effort!) so people know. I can't imagine having an animal and taking the chance by not having it microchipped - I like the peace of mind,

Our 3 are microchipped and Dobby has a tag on his collar that states he's chipped. We don't have collars on the cats as it's too dangerous given that our garden backs onto woodland. I wish that all vets would automatically scan for microchips , but sadly they don't.

My own cat is chipped-The Kitty I found wasn't chipped, but his owners had left his details at the vets that's how they were reunited. They said they were going to get him chipped and neutered when he was old enough in case he wandered again

So glad they left details at vets, nice to hear of a happy reunion. There are so many heartbreaking stories of pets going missing.

Harry's got one of the easy breakaway collars and they do work - he came home naked the other day and Dave found the collar in the path. (He said it was because Harry didn't like my colour scheme of line green collar and purple tag!)

Last weekend my friend found a cat that was buried up to his neck and covered in twigs. She dug him out and took him to the vet who looked after him and then handed him over to he RSPCA. She found out on Thursday that he was going to be put to sleep in Sunday as he has a heart murmur and they wouldn't try to rehome him. He's only about 6 years old and the murmur isn't causing him any problems and may never do so but they won't give him a chance. They have said my friend could take him as she found him but she has a whippet cross lurched that has already killed 2 squirrels. We are now looking into the possibility of my Mum taking him as none of us can bear the idea of him going through all that and him then being put to sleep. To be honest I'm disgusted by the RSPCA's attitude.

I hope you find a home for the cat Skippy. I've heard so many similar stories re: the RSPCA . A colleague of mine found an injured duck and they refused to go and get it. Told her to leave it there. Luckily she ignored them and took it to the vets, who was furious with the RSPCA.

I donate to a local rescue place, they run on charity and never put an animal to sleep due to no home. If I had time, I would volunteer there, they are absolutely amazing people.

So have I Julie and I won't donate to them now. My friend spoke to them yesterday and they are going to phone her on Monday so we've bought him a bit more time. I'd have him but I don't think Harry would like it and I don't want him to be pushed out.

I donate to Cats Protection and Battersea as they don't put a healthy animal to sleep. Harry came from a local charity who put the cats into foster homes and keep them as long as necessary so we donate to them as well, usually when they are running an appeal for a particular cat.

Hope you find a home for the poor cat Skippy. How could anyone be cruel to a animal? I also have heard many bad things about the RSPCA, and donate to the PDSA, and local Rescue Centres who have food donation boxes at the local Supermarket

I can't stop thinking about him. I even suggested Dave put up a stud wall in the living room so we could have him. Needless to say that was a definite no!

To put it into perspective, the RSPCA want to put down a healthy cat as he 'might' have a problem in the future. The charity that Harry came from has just paid for an FIV+ cat to have an operation for a tumour on his foot so he can have a good quality of life.

I'd have him if I was nearer Skippy.

Bless you Dunkynuts. I thought about chancing and having him but (and please don't laugh at this!) Harry suffers from stress an pulls out his fur - he's had a pink belly since the Christmas tree went up! I really don't think he'd cope with another cat somehow! I'll let you know what happens on Monday
