since last July we have received letter from to majot UK fianncial institutions for a person not and never known at our address
we sent them back unopened for 3 months, then when there marked important we statrted opening them as the accounts were in debt, i phoned the numbers given and spoke to several people who said they would put a not on account not to send more
then when collections got them it started again, i even went to my local bank of the most percistant one and the bloke there assured me he would stop it, but yesterday a deferred leter arrived for that account, could me and my wife sue for stress and harrassment

No idea about the suining element of this. Have you checked your credit files for any association with this name though?

I keep getting one letter from Santander for a man that must've lived in my house over 20 years ago, I've taken it in to them, written to them, returned it marked as RTS but still each year they send a statement.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Take a visit to your local CAB, I know it is a pain and time you should not need to be wasting on someone else's problem, but they have the contacts and expertise to inform whoever it is sending you these letters to stop.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues

SCM phone number is 0845 603 4402 and their fax number is 01273 636485. They can be contacted by email at recoveries.admin@ltsbasset.co.uk. Hopefully this'll help.
