On my final payment date I got a text message
"Congratulations on becoming another year closer too becoming debt free"
I have had "1" phone call since I put my complaint on here to which I answered hello about 8 times, then whoever called me hung up, I have sent as much info as I can, with loads of stuff missing as 2 lots of outgoing proof has "gone missing in the post" within the last 2 years yet still no call to say what is going on.
I have received all the stuff back today with a letter saying "Please find your documents enclosed" but again, still no explanation as to what is going on.

Is it possible for me to apply for bankruptcy at this stage in my IVA ?
Starting to lose my mind now..............

Forgive me if I've missed something, but why would you consider bankruptcy at this stage of your IVA?

Because of the amount they say we owe at the end of it.
But I have had a phone call today and the amount has halved so that`s a start I suppose.
Now I am waiting for the complaints department to get in touch.
The only other worrying thing is that they haven`t took a payment today as they say the IVA is finished, but I would rather them keep taking money and take it off the final bill we have.

I am wondering, because the people involved in my case haven`t been doing their job properly (admitted by one of the representatives over the phone), would I not be entitled to some of the "management fee`s" back because of this? maybe another thing to bring up with the complaints department when they get in touch......

I sympathise with you totally. I have been asked to pay almost half again of what I owed even though I have made lump sum payments and by my calculation it should be nearly paid off. I am now taking my complaint to the CAB for their advice with a view to taking legal action. I am worried that people who are finishing their IVA will have no idea that they will be hit with a request for such large amounts of money. Will keep you posted. My appointment is next Friday, 17 May.

Glad to read things have improved for you toto - No good company ever wants to have an unhappy client on htier hands or have an IVA fail unnecessarily.

Best wishes.

Freeman Jones have got one more unhappy customer now. Having been told that completion certificate would be with us in January, then another 4 weeks and another 4 weeks and another 4 weeks. Guess what we were told today? That's right, another 4 weeks.
Feel very let down as I have always supported Freeman Jones on this forum. (Until recently) I know feel that once you're not paying them any more they just can't be bothered.

Foggy I just wish they'd tell the truth and say, "You haven't a hope for 6/12/18 months."(Delete as appropriate) Also I went on Experian for the first time and I noticed that MBNA have put a default on me last week. What do I do about that?

You will need to write to the data controller at MBNA and tell them to date the default on or prior to the start of the IVA -- or remove it.

Halfway down this page on the right ( under the chat button) is a template letter which might help:

Well, getting there, sort of, I have admitted part blame on my side, but excuses like saying BOTH my land line & mobile were "Out of Order" when they have tried to ring me isn`t good enough in my eyes, even though I have had the same mobile number since before I started my IVA, which has NEVER been out of service, and when asked why don`t they send out letters stating that your payments should go up and why, they had no answer, is this not what we pay "Management fee`s for ?

We are also querying a payment made to Gregory Pennington (a subsidiary company of Freeman Jones)about our one off payment of around £600 9 years ago, what they called a sort of acceptance fee before we moved on to our IVA.
