Oh Andy NO, a frugal friends meeting would not be the same without you and Bev[:0]

I look forward to attending again, but would moving back a week to Feb 7th not be possible?
United are away that day at West Ham so accomodation should be more plentiful and probably cheaper as well. Moving back to the 10th Jan makes no sense as Utd are playing Chelsea at OT that day. I do think that Andy has been a driving force behind both the forum and the F/F meetings so it wouldn't be the same without him.

I think we need to pick a day when Man U are not playing at home as the hotels all go mad and will all be booked up.

Also agree with size, it should be a date when Andy & Bev can come as it would not be the same. A frugal friends without Mr & Mrs Davie!! doesn't sound right!

And if we could acomodate Ladyh's work that would be lovely also[:)]

Size 5 - do you have any suggestions on location in Manchester that would be good and have good transport links. I stay around Salford Quays/Trafford Park when I work in Manchester, where else would be good to consider?

Would people be happy to attend on Valentine's Day? If not - we are looking at 21 Feb to try and suit everyone?

The earlier the date is known the better of course. Usual suspects as far as hotels concerned I would have thought, Premier Inn, Travel Lodge etc.

14th may be tricky for some, but as I can't generally get a sitter on a saturday then Mrs Size may have to settle for her valentine's present early.

Or we take it outside Manchester - to say Warrington which is close to the motorway network where hotels may be cheaper and more available? Any more suggestions from the Northerners?

I can do:

Jan 24
Jan 31
Feb 7

Don't think Man U being at home is an issue - plenty of hotels around Warrington or around M62 corridor. - but important Andy available

Hi Melanie just a suggestion, maybe early feb for Manchester and then the next could be end of March to bring the months back in line.
It wouldnt be the same without Andy and Bev. When there is a date set and venue I will put all the info into the ff section so it is easily accessible for everyone.

I agree - hopefully Feb 7 could be an option. It is so difficult to find a date that suits everyone!

i would be happy to come on valentines day..we could make it into an event...lets face it..us old fogies dont usually do anything romantic on 14th feb any more so a weekend away might brighten up our lives a bit....

maybe we can do a spot on "how to keep romance alive " during IVA....in all seriousness....the run up to and during IVA relationships can be extremely fraught...perhaps we can use the theme of valentines to raise awareness of how to "live and love" during IVAs

What about the people who are coming on their own? Not everyone who struggles with debt have another half, someone else to share. They have to cope with it on their own plus everything else going on around them.

We must not forget the ones who have split due to stress either.
