Isn't it strange Lily that we black countryites don't like being referred to as brummies, and vice versa?

We have a mixture in our house - my hubbie was born and drug up in Kingstanding, I'm black country.

It's a small world! Cooksey Lane was where hubby lived when he was a kid, not far from the Deers Leap pub.

Ooops, sorry, I didn't mean to offend you! I hope you'll still talk to me at Frugal Friends!

Jasper Carrott is still funny though, regardless of where he's from!

I saw him live about 10 years ago and it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. Sadly he said he's given up stand up as he says he can't compete with modern comedians - not a bad thing as far as I'm concerned!

I'm afraid I find a lot of todays comedians totally unfunny!

My fave Jasper skit is the football match - I love that one.

Same here - I either don't get the 'jokes' or else I get fed up with the swearing.

I love that one! I also love the one about the adopted gorilla, and his insurance claim stories. I might have to get the DVDs out in a minute as there's nothing on TV!

I'm not offended Skip, nor would I ever want to offend, its kind of an in joke with Black country and the brummies, we are alike as people but speak quite differently.

Cant wait to meet both of you.

We're being educational - hubby has a programme on about Hermann Goering.

Jasper Carrott sounds much better though!

And hardly a swear word in sight!

Todays comedians obviously think they cannot be funny unless the 'F' word appears somewhere in their 'jokes'. If we happen upon any whilst flipping through the channels, I wonder if the audience has been given laughing gas, because it's the only way you would get me to laugh at them.

It's probably my age!

I just don't want to listen to other people swearing all the time - I may be a prude but I don't like it if I buy an album and it has a parental advisory label on it. I don't think it's necessary, although I'm probably a hypocrite as I do swear, although not continuously!
