That's awful. The last time there was a fuel strike, my TA unit was mobilised and I spent nearly two weeks protecting the security of a power station which was thought to be at risk from sabotage! I hope we don't see scenes like that again.

I heard that it's only Shell tanker drivers who are striking about their wages, not about the price of fuel.

I wasworking at ASDA and the Police and had to stand in the freezing cold letting emergency vehicles only fuel up along with docs nurses police officers etc. That's one thing we do get to buy a small quantity of fuel working for the local authority. Mrs Skint in anwer to your question I saw on the news that it is not definate but certainly suggested. X

Dave is self employed and if he hasn't got any petrol then he can't work either.

I was ok during the last fuel strike as I had an old banger that ran on 4 Star, which ran out long after diesel and unleaded.

Its defo only shell drivers so as long as people dont panic buy things will be fine, the problem is people will panic buy, even by putting £30 in instead of your usual £15 will cause problems(we had this a few weeks ago when the refinery at grangemouth shut down).
My advice......get your car filled up and hope it dont run out!!!

PS or get the bike out the shed!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

I see they want 13% payrise and have been offered something like 6% -what wouldn't I give for a payrise that big!

Last year I had just under 2.5% and I doubt we will will get that this year.

I'm off work next week so shouldn't be too bad for me.

Trouble with it just being shell, is that it will have a knock on effect at other petrol stations as drivers use them instead. 4 of the 8 unleaded pumps had run out at ASDA yesterday when I filled up.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

There is a petition to sign re: fuel prices. Whether the government listen is another thing, but here's the link.

I've just filled up (I was going to anyway!) but there doesn't seem to be any panicking here yet - there were more pumps working and less cars than normal!

Just signed the petition.

We filled up today - £56!!!!!!!!! Went to both Tesco and Sainsburys but both the same price £115.9. Queues at both of them. We're ok for the next week or so now anyway as I am off next week.

I've been and filled up! Was going to at the weekend...honest...as going to Manchester on Tuesday to see The Police in concert and staying over. On hols from work all week too! (apart from Thursday when I've been roped into a training day).
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
